Biathlon, Odds tips | Norway secures double success at the relays in Anterselva
Norway took the grand slam when they won both the men’s and women’s relays last weekend in Ruhpolding. We believe in new Norwegian success in Anterselva.

The Biathlon World Cup continues in the Italian Anterselva this weekend with relays for both men and women on Sunday. The Norwegian men have been superb this season, and have taken all the relay victories. Norway was without a relay victory on the women’s side before Ruhpolding last weekend, but there the Norwegian girls struck with a clear victory.
Relay 4×6 km, women
The last time the women ran a relay this season, it went like this:
1. Norway
2. Germany + 15.3
3. Italy + 33.5
Can the Norwegian girls do it again?
Three relays have now been completed in the women’s season. In the World Cup opener in Kontiolahti, Finland, Sweden met the favorites and had 28 seconds down on Germany in second place and 31.5 seconds down on Norway in third place. A week later there was a relay in Hochfilzen. Then France won, while Sweden entered second place, seconds behind. Norway fielded a reduced team (Karoline Knotten, Emilie Kalkenberg, Karoline Erdal and Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold) and finished in fifth place, just over a minute behind the winner.
The terrible statistics turned around for the Norwegian girls when they won the relay in Ruhpolding last weekend. It was the first time with Marte Olsbu Røiseland on the team this season.
Now the girls will go on a relay in Anterselva and again Olsbu Røiseland will be at the start. This group with Ida Lien (who stands in for Karoline Knotten), Ragnhild Fremsteinevik and Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold. The toughest opponents this time will probably be Sweden, who will come with the Öberg sisters, and France, who will get back World Cup leader Julia Simon on the anchor stage. Norsk Tipping has set Sweden and France as favorites with respectively 2.45 and 2.75 in odds, but you saw last time that the Norwegian girls absolutely must not be written off. There should be good opportunities for new Norwegian success, and at odds of 4.50 it is a clearly approved bet.
We think Norway will win the women’s relay at odds of 4.50. You can play that on her.
Relay 4×7.5 km, men
The last time the men ran a relay this season, it went like this:
1. Norway
2. Germany + 20.1
3. France + 55.6
The Norwegian men are clear favorites on the odds
The men have also run three World Cup relays this season. The first in Finnish Kontiolahti at the beginning of December. In Kontiolahti, it was Vetle Sjåstad Christiansen, Sturla Holm Lægreid, Tarjei Bø and Johannes Thingnes Bø who went for Norway, and Norway won by a superior 43.9 seconds ahead of Germany. The team was changed before the relay in Hochfilzen when Tarjei Bø was replaced by Filip Fjeld Andersen. Norway also won then, and then the distance to Sweden in second place was 20.0 seconds.
Norway was therefore, as expected, the big favorite before the relay in Ruhpolding last weekend. It was another victory for the Norwegian men ahead of Germany in second place (+20.1) and France in third place (+55.6). Sturla Holm Lægreid walked the 1st stage, Tarjei Bø walked the 2nd stage, Vetle Sjåstad Christiansen walked the 3rd stage, while Johannes Thingnes Bø walked the anchor stage for Norway. Norway also fields this group with the same team, but they change the order a bit where Johannes Thingnes Bø goes the third stage while Vetle Sjåstad Christiansen takes care of the anchor stage this group.
Norway has won all three relays they have run this season, and it is difficult to argue for anything other than another Norwegian victory. The odds are not huge, but the chances of winning are also very high.
We believe in another Norwegian victory for the men, and you are betting on that here.
