World Cup 2023 – Amélie Oudéa-Castéra affirms that the works of the Toulouse Stadium will be carried out on time
WORLD CUP 2023 – While the Stadium of Toulouse must make arrangements to host matches of the 2023 World Cup, the Minister of Sports, Amélie Oudéa-Castéra, assured in an interview with La Dépêche that everything will be done on time.
The news had worried in Haute-Garonne. Several months ago, it was revealed that the Toulouse Stadium, which was to host five group matches of the next Rugby World Cup, including one from New Zealand, was still not approved by international bodies. The expansion work within the usual lair of the Toulouse Football Club still had to be carried out before the start of the World Cup. They concerned in particular the fire doors, the fireproof ceilings, certain emergency evacuations and even the sound system of the stadium. Also, the widening of the field by 1.50m on each side over its entire length and the extension of the en-mais was at the center of the debates.
“That’s no cause for concern, said Friday the Minister of Sports, Amélie Oudéa-Castéra, in the columns of La Dépêche. The Metropolis of Toulouse has really taken things in hand. The work will be carried out at the end of the 2022/2023 sports season, and will be completed on time. Thus, the Stadium should therefore be approved and the matches could be played, as planned, in the Toulouse metropolis.
