Pension reform: in Toulouse, what to expect this Thursday
The day of mobilization against the pension reform promises to be very popular this Thursday. In Toulouse, many disruptions are to be expected, especially in transport and schools. A demonstration will take place downtown at 10 a.m.
Will the French be on the streets this Thursday? All the trade unions (CFDT, CGT, FO, CFE-CGC, CFTC, UNSA, Solidaires, FSU) are convinced of this. The inter-union calls for a strike to fight the pension reform announced by Elisabeth Borne on January 10.
In Toulouse, a procession will leave the François Verdier metro at 10 a.m. in the direction of Place Arnaud Bernard. “To my knowledge, there has not been an inter-union since the beginning of the 2010s. To propose a starting age of 64 is the red line that has been crossed! denounces Hervé Aussel, deputy secretary general of the departmental union of the CFDT in Haute-Garonne. The government has succeeded in its bet to alienate all professional organizations. »
All the trades are indeed concerned by the strike, the Toulousains must therefore expect disturbances even if it is difficult to predict the exact impact of this mobilization because the employees do not have the obligation to report their participation in the strike.
Minimum reception service
Either way, parents will probably have to organize themselves. All education unions urging staff to join the strike movement, whether in the first or second degree. For elementary students who cannot be accommodated in their school, two sites will be open from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.: the Sept Deniers leisure center, 110, route de Blagnac, and the Petit Capitole center, 153, Lardenne Avenue. Kindergarten students will be welcomed at the same times at the Petit Capitole center but also at La Juncasse school, 131, rue Louis Plana, Jules Ferry school, 8, avenue Jules Ferry, and Moulin school, 1, rue de Bir-Hakeim. All are destined for Toulouse. Registration by parents will be done on site from 8 am to 9:30 am Meals will not be delivered. Children can be accommodated with a packed lunch provided by the parents.
Difficult to know the number of strikers in colleges and high schools even if the unions have estimated that they will be numerous in the procession.
Just like the ATSEM and extracurricular animators. “This strike will be very popular. How can we properly take care of toddlers over 60, when the number of children is constantly increasing? », Storm Yannick Teboul, from the South union.
On the transport side, the day will also be hectic. “Very high risks of disruption are to be expected across the entire network,” says Tisséo, without further details at this stage. The SNCF for its part expects a “punch” day. The traffic usurpers will be communicated by the railway company this Wednesday.
In the airline sector, the risk of cancellation is not negligible. The strike should in particular be followed within Air France. “We are calling on DGAC personnel, including air traffic controllers, to mobilize this Thursday! », announces Jean-Marc Vialatte, of the USAC-CGT.
Carriers are also invited to demonstrate but snail operations are not on the program… for the moment. “We are demonstrating on Thursday, for the rest it will depend on what the government wants to do, warns Stéphan Pouget, secretary general of the CFDT 31. The carriers supply the supermarkets, the government must not forget it! The list is not exhaustive, among the other professions called upon to demonstrate are in particular the nursing staff and the police (on leave).
