The trainer of the Innsbruck AC, Elvir Karahasanovic. The IAC is only one point short of the top 5, in terms of points Mann with Kematen is on sixth relegation place. Once again it will be a highly unusual second half of the season in the Tyrolean League. However, it must also be said that the Tyrol League will certainly be devalued by retaining the Regionalliga Tirol and the cross-state format of the Regionalliga West 2023/24. Markus Seelaus, Rum’s trainer, remembered it like this: If you don’t get promoted, you will actually get relegated in the current season!
Conclusion about the first half of the season?
Elvir Karahasanovic, Innsbrucker AC coach: “Of course it took a while to adjust the team as the new coach in the first half of the season. But we started well, but it’s a pity that we got stuck at the end with three defeats in a row. That WILL also be an issue in the preparation and we want to work fully functional towards our goal and that is a place for advancement.
winter preparation?
Elvir Karahasanovic: “We started running training on January 9th, 2023, and we will be there from January 16th. The focus is on fitness and team tactics. Test matches are fixed from January 28 – against Hall, Innsbruck West, Oberhofen and Imst. In the test games, the focus is of course on getting back into the championship game in a playful way. Access must be avoided at all costs. We hope that we will be spared, unlike last year.”
transfer activities?
Elvir Karahasanovic: “Ertugrul Yösavel joined us from Schwaz and Nail Duran from SV Hall. Sinan Bicer has moved from us to Hall and Manuel Göbbel’s next club hasn’t been decided yet. Ertugrul Yoesavel is a young player who will surely improve and help us. This actually ends our transfer activities, some injured players are coming back to training.
Goals in spring 2023?
Elvir Karahasanovic: “A promotion place among the top 5 must be our goal. We are three points behind in fifth place and six points behind leaders Völs. But of course it will be difficult to reach this goal. If you look at the opponents, it must be clear to us that we have to do more than all the other teams!”
Assessment of the situation in the league?
Elvir Karahasanovic: “There will be a fight until the last round for the promotion places and the promotion relegation place. Völs is my favorite for promotion, Wacker Innsbruck also plays good football and has also strengthened significantly. Ebbs, Mils, Prutz/Serfaus, Kematen and Volders are hot contenders for the top 5. It’s going to be incredibly dramatic – that’s already certain.
My wish is that the good atmosphere in the team can be transferred to the pitch. We are playing our first game of the second half of the season at home against Natters on the penultimate weekend in March.”
