The best engineering schools in Toulouse in 2023
ISAE SupAero is the most recognized engineering school in Occitanie and Toulouse. It is ranked 13th nationally according to the latest Usine Nouvelle ranking. In total, nine Toulouse schools are classified.
Like every year, the New Factory publishes its annual ranking of the best engineering schools in France and in Occitania. For the 2023 vintage, nine Toulouse schools separate themselves from the national ranking. ISAE Supaero, an aeronautical engineering school, tops the establishments in Toulouse and even wins a place nationally (13th position) compared to 2022. The Toulouse CESI campus, which offers training in industry, construction, IT and digital technology, has risen five places to 21th sounded French.
The Enseeith victim of a change of criteria
Among the surprises of the 2023 vintage is the plummeting of the IUNP Enseeiht “which has lost a lot of places on the item of proximity to companies” analyzes Jeanne Bigot, the journalist in charge of this ranking at the editorial staff of the New factory. This will be more of a technical accident than the fundamentals of the school. “The commission for engineering qualifications no longer takes into account corporate chairs as an indicator, even though this is one of Enseeiht’s strengths, which makes them lose places” she adds.
The National School of Civil Aviation (Enac) fell eleven places, because of the professional integration of its graduates. The very revealing post covid situation for the aeronautics sector is a large part of the explanation. This article should improve next year.
Four main criteria taken into account
Four main criteria are compiled to obtain this ranking: proximity to companies, integration into the job market, research and internationality. They are received by L’Usine nouvelle with the commission of engineering titles and the conference of directors of French engineering schools to succeed in the ranking of 135 schools in France. “We only rank schools of comparable size. Not all of them are there, even if some are very good,” commented Jeanne Bigot.
