Residents of La Granière in Marseille denounce the deterioration of their housing
Poorly insulated and poorly heated homes
, numerous water infiltrations in the buildings of the condominium, humidity, mold, an obvious lack of maintenance and cleanliness in the surroundings and in the six bars of eight floors of the private residence. Despite ever-increasing loads, the inhabitants of La Granière are fed up of “pay for nothing”. France Bleu Provence checked the living conditions of the inhabitants.

which did not respond to our written request, took over from Foncia three years ago and its lease was renewed at the end of last year.
The feeling of living outside
Among the inhabitants met by France Bleu Provence, this isolated mother of five children. The family has lived since “almost three years” in a T5 located on the ground floor, “just above the cellars”. The rent is 900 euros per month for a daily life of humidity and mould.

Morgiana has also lived in an apartment in La Granière for 3 years. With her husband and three-year-old child, the 26-year-old pregnant woman, rents a T2 on the ground floor. Its rent of just over 500 euros does not guarantee it will be properly heated. “It’s 13 degrees. It’s often warmer outside than inside” says Morgiana, worried about the health of her little boy, already hospitalized during the holidays.

La Granière, enhanced in the 1960s near the North Hospital, is a large urban complex like Kallisté park

, two other cities in the 15th arrondissement. The private residence of 400 co-owners comprises six bars of eight-storey buildings. Like many other condominiums in Marseille, La Granière is falling apart and suffers from a lack of investment or even abandonment which makes the residence more and more attractive for squatters, slumlords and even dealers.
