“Ness Merad started crying…” This scene that upset Chine Thybaud (Victoire)
China Thybaud, the interpreter of Victoire, in Toulouse-Lautrec high school, evoked a particularly moving scene with Ness Merad (Marie-Antoinette) in episode 3 of the TF1 series.
“I have a disease, myopathy, where I get tired very quickly, so it was quite difficult because I was in many sequences and I had to keep the energy, even when I was not speaking, because the camera was on me. Then, I’m not the type to show my dark side, the problems I may encounter, the lack of self-confidence. Or, for filming, it was mandatory. I had to force myself to reveal that part of my personality. Sometimes it was very hard not to cry.” we explained Ness Meradthe interpreter of Marie-Antoinette, a pupil with a disability in Toulouse Lautrec high schoolthe new series of TF1 Inspired by a True Story. The young girl cracked during a scene in episode 3 broadcast from 9:10 p.m. this Monday, January 16.
“I saw Ness Merad surrender, totally and let go”
It is China Thybaudthe interpreter of Victoire, who by revealing on the TF1 website which scene she had the most fun performing, revealed: “One sequence particularly characterized me, because I saw Ness Merad, who plays Marie-Antoinette, surrenders completely and lets go. The scene takes place in a school hallway. Marie-Antoinette evokes with Victoire her dream of a love story and tells her that she is aware of never being able to live it.

The real tears of Ness Merad
“Ness Merad started to cry while continuing to speak when it was not at all specified in the scenario, to pursue China Thybaud. I felt Marie-Antoinette’s words mingle with hers and tears also welled up in my eyes when I was supposed to throw a rather funny line at her! The cameras started rolling and we sent the astonishment of Valérie Karsenti when she intervenes in the scene”. China Thybaud also returned to his collaboration with Ness Merad: “I met the others during the two weeks preceding the shooting, in particular Ness Merad with whom my character has the most important relationship. This shooting was complicated, exhausting, but there were no conflicts. Everything everyone got on well. We were very supportive”.
