Carlos Hipólito assumes leadership of Phenix in Portugal
Carlos Hipólito is the new Head of Portugal at Phenix, a reference brand in the fight against food waste in Europe. The person responsible takes over the management in Portugal, with the mission of developing the B2B business segment, namely the Phenix program to convert surpluses from large commercial areas into donations to IPSS. The aim is to extend the service to more companies and sectors, supporting even more people in need.
The new manager states that “Phenix is a company with a mission of honor, which I was able to call home as commercial director. Today, in the role of Chief of Portugal, I assume the commitment to continue the work of excellence developed, until then, by Frederico, helping the Portuguese and Portuguese companies to mitigate the waste in their lives”.
Carlos Hipólito has a degree in Sociology of Work, from the Higher Institute of Social and Political Sciences, and a postgraduate degree in Sociology of Work and Organizations, from the same educational institution, and in Commercial and Sales Management, from IPAM. He has been linked to Phenix and its mission since 2021, having also worked at organizations such as Zomato, LetsBonus Portugal and Groupon Portugal, in the areas of Sales, Marketing and Partnerships.

Phenix arrived in Portugal in 2016, with its donation program, and later also created an anti-waste app, dedicated to the B2C segment, which allows connecting local commerce to the final consumer through food baskets, at a third of the usual sale price to the public, preventing them from being affected.
The application is already present in Lisbon, Porto, Braga, Aveiro, Viseu and Coimbra.
