Ligue 1: what to remember from the 19th day
The 19th day of Ligue 1 takes place this weekend. Between the loss of PSG, the card of Monaco, the victories of Lens and OM, that’s all you need to remember.
Lens-Auxerre: 1-0
Lens no longer stops. Even if it would have been complicated against Auxerre, who finished at 10, the Sang et Or chained another match without defeat by winning 1-0 against AJA on Saturday, thanks to a penalty from Frankowski (59e). The Lensois, second, keep their place and put pressure on PSG, who are playing this Sunday evening in Rennes. The Auxerrois, beaten 5-0 by Toulouse on Wednesday at home, concede a fifth consecutive defeat in the league and descend to the penultimate place with 13 points on the clock.
Marseille-Lorient: 3-1
OM followed up with a sixth success by beating Lorient (3-1). Trailing, the Olympians reacted well. Sead Kolasinac first put the two teams tied (38th, 1-1). Alexis Sanchez doubled the bet (53rd, 2-1) and Jordan Veretout (59th, 3-1) finished the job. Marseille is still third.
Lyon-Strasbourg: 1-2
Strasbourg is going a little better since the departure of Julien Stéphan. After the draw this week, his ex-assistant Mathieu Le Scornet, interim coach, won a hopeful success for Lyon (2-1). Conversely, OL went on to a third match without a win in the league. Some ultras tried to enter the lawn at the final whistle.
Lille-Troyes: 5-1
Lille regained victory by outclassing Troyes (5-1). For his first start since August, Mohamed Bayo scored twice (16th, 47th), just like Jonathan David (45th + 2, 88th) and Alan Virginius (75th) went there with his goal. Maman Baldé saved the honor of Les Troyens (65th). This 10th success of the season allows Losc to move up to sixth place. Only downside, the big blessing of Adam Ounas, hit in the right leg from the 6th minute. Troyes, for its part, fell to 14th place.
Montpellier-Nantes: 0-3
Third consecutive defeat for sinking Montpellier. The Héraultais largely lost against Nantes (0-3) in a match which had started with jets of smoke. The supporters, quite annoyed by the level of their team for a few matches, have in particular deployed many banners, some of which are homophobic. The Montpellier club, which finished 9th after the expulsions of Khazri and Wahi, is 15th. Nantes is 13th.
Toulouse-Brest: 1-1
Toulouse and Brest parted ways in a 1-1 draw on Sunday at the Stadium. The Brestois, now trained by Eric Roy, had opened the scoring by Steve Mounié but Téfécé came back to score thanks to its semi-finalist at the last World Cup, the Moroccan Zakaria Aboukhlal. toulouse rest 12eBrest is 18e.
Reims-Nice: 0-0
Reims and Nice, who changed coaches at the same time last week, parted ways in a goalless draw (0-0).
Angers-Clermont: 1-2
Last with eight small points on the clock after 19 days of the championship, the SCO of Angers continues to sink. Unable to win a single point since September, the Angevins chained against Clermont (2-1) an eleventh defeat in a row in L1. The Auvergnats are eighth.
Monaco-Ajaccio: 7-1
The Monegasques made short work of Ajacciens, trailing 5-1 after 35 minutes, and remain five points behind Marseille, the third to whom they will visit in two weeks for the next day of the championship. At Louis-II, Monaco rained down goals before the break by Axel Disasi (2nd), Krepin Diatta (6th) and Wissam Ben Yedder, author of a hat-trick (21st, 28th and 35th from the penalty spot). The incoming Breel Embolo (63rd, 89th) added to the bill.
Rennes-PSG: 1-0
Another defeat for PSG this season! After the slap received in Lens on January 1, Christophe Galtier’s men recorded a new setback this time in Rennes (1-0). Fifth in Ligue 1, the Bretons won thanks to a goal from their captain Hamari Traoré (65th) and demoted to five points from third place occupied by OM. Paris, which will travel to Saudi Arabia this week for a tour, is treading water and sees Lens come back to three points. Marseille is five points behind.
