Talking NME earlier this week, Valo explained that ‘Neon Noir’ was written during the pandemic, which he said “took an emotional toll on me, speaking quite hard”. Speaking about the state she was in during the process, she said: “I wouldn’t call it clinical depression. I’m from the country [Finland] which has a peculiar history of people being quite grumpy… it’s probably because the winters are very dark.”
He also revealed wise advice that Ozzy Osbourne once gave him regarding rousing the audience. According to the light Black Sabbath legend suggested to him that “if you don’t get the first line going [during a live show]show them your boobs.”
Regarding a potential HIM appointment, Valo recently hinted that it is possible, said in an interview: “HIM was much more than just a band to me. If there was a good reason, a good idea or a good reason, or if everyone suddenly started to gravitate towards each other, I think that would be the best thing.”
