strong recovery of services and library ever closer to citizens
The library greets the new year by presenting the statistical data for 2022: 266 new registered users and 18883 entries, figures that highlight a significant return to the use of spaces and services after the covid period, for a total of 19706 movements on the documents held. thanks also to the novelty of DVD lending. There were many initiatives involving children and teenagers. The “Sundays in the library” have started again, an event much awaited and frequented by families; the “illuminated library of the little ones” is back in the estate, with its theatrical and musical readings in the garden; the fruitful collaboration with the schools was consolidated which, thanks to the “Reading Project”, manages to bring almost five hundred children to the library every month. Numerous afternoon workshops have also been created for the little ones, the novelty of “playful Saturdays” has been added, organizational appointments in collaboration with local associations to create new socialization opportunities aimed at all ages and, as an active point of the bread and internet regional project, the library organized two courses on the use of smartphones for the elderly. The group of readers who attended the monthly meetings of the reading club and took an active part in the meetings with the writers Simona Vinci, Lorenza Ghinelli and Wu Ming was increasingly large. Furthermore, space was given to the presentation of local authors. The most read titles of 2022 are the novels “Changing water for flowers” by Valerie Perrin, “Oliva Denaro” by Viola Ardone and “L’equazione del cuore” by Maurizio De Giovanni; for children’s literature, the escape books “The mysterious villa” and “Incubo al luna park” won, followed by the manga “Body”. Among the most loaned magazines are “Internazionale”, “Limes” and “Cose di casa” while the most watched DVD was the animated film “Luca” followed by “Star wars: the rise of Skywalker”, “Wonder woman 1984” and “Jungle Cruise”. With the aim of better designing the cultural and recreational offer for 2023, the library will soon send its users a survey to receive suggestions on new desired activities.
