ANTONIO FABBRI – (…) The case is that of anonymous letter which offended some members of NPR and the then Regent Alessandro Mancini. On trial for offenses against the Regency and persons vested with public powers, Moreno Benedettini, who mailed the letters. He too had to answer for slander because at the time he accused Iro Belluzzi of having drafted those letters, whose position was however shelved because it was recognized by the investigating magistrate as unrelated to the facts. In the afternoon, the sentence of Judge Saldarelli arrived, condemning the Benedettini to a total of 10 months of imprisonment, with the possibility of conditional suspension and non mention. Also sentenced to pay the costs of justice, the fees of the civil party and compensation for damages. Fixed a provisional amount of 10,000 euros in favor of Iro Belluzzi; 5,000 euros in favor of the Most Excellent Chamber; 1,000 euros each in favor of Bronzetti and Mancini. Possible appeal.
