Albert and his son Pierre to his rescue
Friday January 13 was not a happy day for everyone since the funeral of Maximilien de Sade took place at the castle of Salem in Germany. The tribute to many royal and main families including that of Monaco. Princess Caroline had made the trip and she was not alone in overcoming the ordeal.
Decidedly, the dark days are linked for the members of the Grimaldi family. Only a few days after the farewell ceremony organized for Archbishop Mgr Barsi, who had officiated major events for the main family such as the wedding of Charlene and Albert or the baptism of the twins Gabriella and Jacques, here they are once again confronted with the death of a person they knew well: Maximilien de Sade.
The marquis passed away on December 29, just days before the start of the new year. He was 89 years old. Impossible for Prince Albert, his sister Caroline of Hanover and the son of the latter, Pierre Casiraghi, not to meet with the relatives of the deceased for a final farewell. The brother and sister stood together, Pierre remaining at the side of his mother, visibly very affected by this new loss, between two exchanges with other guests. Wrapped up in an elegant long black coat, Caroline remained dignified, her face protected by the wearing of a black velvet hat.
In addition to King Philippe of Belgium, Prince Hassan of Jordan, Prince Alexander and Princess Mahkameh of Schaumbourg-Lippe and Landgrave Donatus of Hesse, Caroline of Hanover also crossed paths with Prince Ernest of Hanover, who is other than the son of her ex, Ernest-Auguste – father of her daughter Alexandra, 23 – from whom she has been separated since 2009 but from whom she has never divorced.
