In Toulouse, owners of Crit’Air 4, Crit’Air 5 or non-classified vehicles parking in the city’s low emission zone can no longer no longer benefit from the resident parking rate. A device put in place by the municipality, which makes it possible to park a vehicle (one per household) for 135 euros per year in the paying zone. What applies to a first request or a renewal.
Authorities point to a need for consistencyto justify this measure related to parking, voted in December 2021. “You have to be consistent”thus released François Chollet, elected in charge of the environment, quoted by The Midi Dispatch. Maxime Boyer, deputy mayor for parking, recognized for his part complaints from“dissatisfied users (…) in limited number”.
Few vehicles concerned and few verbalizations… for the moment
For the moment, the vehicles concerned are gasolines before September 1997 and diesels before 2006. As for two-wheelers, these are motorcycles and scooters first registered before 2004.
Thereby, “a few dozen verbalizations” have been drawn up since March 1, the date of entry into force of the EPZ for trucks and commercial vehicles. This during checks organized by the police. Nevertheless this should be considered in the future. Indeed, the authorities have announced an automated control by the second half of 2024.
Remember that Low Emission Zones have been set up in agglomerations of more than 150,000 inhabitants. What will concern 45 areas in France by 2025. Their aim is to limit traffic to vehicles considered to be the most polluting, in order to improve air quality.
