The ranking method
You should know that the top 15 of the best Belgian chip shops is not strictly speaking an official ranking since it is based solely on a consumer popularity index. No jury or investigator/mystery shopper indeed tests the restaurants upstream in order to build a hierarchy between them.
Les-friteries.com be based on the votes left by customers / Internet users on its site, thus taking into account their number and the rating as such, with a priority given to the most recent votes (this may explain that some chip shops with fewer votes than others are likely to be better ranked). Finally, the age of the establishment on the site is also taken into account.
For the record, a similar classification is also made on the French side. And the least we can say is that the Hauts-de-France region is very present there with no less than thirteen chip shops ranked in the top 15! The only chip shop in the Grand Est is far from Luxembourg since it is Chez Mel, in Langres in Haute-Marne.
