The expert found out how many troops Russia needs for new attacks from Belarus
Now 12-13 thousand servicemen of the Russian Federation live on the territory of Belarus.
Military expert Mykhailo Samus said that the likelihood of an invasion of Russian invaders into Ukraine from the territory Belarus now very low.
On air Apostrophe TV he noted that the number of Russian armed forces over the past week has increased by 600-700 people, but in general there are 12-13 thousand Russian servicemen on the territory of Belarus. This, according to Samus, is absolutely not enough to carry out offensive measures, even together with the armed forces of Belarus.
“If we talk about some significant figure that will be transferred, that the Russians have already decided to prepare for this operation, then this is somewhere around 30,000. and this is not enough, based on any theories of the balance of power between the attacking side and the defending side,” the expert explained.
According to him, given the very serious geographical conditions on the Ukrainian-Belarusian border and the fact that Ukraine has carried out a huge engineering work on the border with Belarus, changing it in the defensive zone, Russia needs to have 80-100 thousand people on this adaptation so that the enemy can expect some progress.
“I’m not talking about success, because only the ground component is not enough. They need to conquer the sky, because when organizing such an operation on the territory of Belarus, it is necessary to carry out many landing operations using aircraft. “Because the likelihood of such an operation is constantly increasing,” Samus said.
Activity of the Russian Federation on the territory of Belarus
Military expert Pavel Narozhny declaredthat the Russian Federation deployed new forces to Belarus not so that they would go on the attack or engage in sabotage. The enemy forces must support the Ukrainian grouping that is on the border, on that addition.
Deputy Commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Pavlyuk notedthat the Russians are gathering their military “scrap metal” in Belarus, since in the Russian Federation there is no way to re-mothball the equipment on its territory. The restoration of Russian equipment takes time, effort and money, so the military of Belarus is involved.
