Eschner New Year’s Apéro: Wishes, expectations and hopes for 2023 – Liechtenstein
ESCHEN – At the beginning of the year, the municipality of Eschen-Nendeln invites you to a New Year’s aperitif. After a two-year break, the traditional event took place again for the first time in order to look back on the past year in a festive setting and to toast the one that started a few days ago.
Musically framed with festive guitar sounds, community leader Tino Quaderer and the members of the community council on Sunday warmly welcome the numerous guests from Eschen and Nendeln to this very special meeting with the population. In his New Year’s speech, community leader Tino Quader covered the formative events and images of the year 2022. The corona crisis with major restrictions for the population was followed by the war in Ukraine, the consequences of which can also be felt directly and indirectly in Liechtenstein and in the community . Be it by taking in people who have fled from the war zone in Eschen and Nendeln, be it by preparing for an impending energy shortage and taking active measures to reduce energy consumption. Despite these events, what will also be remembered, according to the community leader, is the solidarity and the good cooperation in the country and in the community.
Good cohesion in the community
The good cohesion is also reflected in the constructive cooperation in the municipal council, which dealt with around 700 agenda items at 75 meetings, some with masks and appropriate distance, in the ending term of office. The topics range from financial equalization to the development costs for new roads and utility lines, from traffic issues such as the right speed on neighborhood streets to securing enough landfill space. Thanks to the committed work in the municipal council, a lot has been implemented that has further increased the quality of life for the population and especially for families. A lot has happened in both Eschen and Nendeln over the past four years. Based on the still new municipal council, which will continue the work for the municipality on May 1st, there are still several topics to which it can devote itself, municipal leader Tino Quaderer with a wink. The completion and revitalization of the Clunia meeting center in Nendeln, the future design of the center buildings in Eschen or the questions that arise about traffic in the community are certainly part of this.
A lot of positive things happened
With the New Year’s aperitif, the community would like to thank everyone who helps shape community life with their personal commitment – be it through work in the community council, in the commissions and in the clubs, be it through the spontaneous help of committed people to neighbors, acquaintances or people, who depend on our support. Starting with the friendly hospitality by the young members of the “Sunntignomittagsschött” association and the music performances by the cheerful guitar group “The United’s” to the exhibition by the photo club Spektral in the foyer of the Eschner community hall, the event was again perfectly organized under the direction of community employee Manuela Nagele.
