″Inadmissible and intolerable″. Portugal condemns violence in Brasilia
The Presidency of the Republic, the Assembly of the Republic, the Government and political leaders condemned the “violence and disorder” in Brasília, where supporters of former President Jair Bolsonaro invaded the headquarters of the three powers.
“The Portuguese Government condemns the acts of violence and disorder that took place today in Brasilia, reiterating its unequivocal support to the Brazilian authorities in replacing order and legality”, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement.

Hundreds of supporters of former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro today invaded the National Congress, the Planalto Palace and the Federal Supreme Court (STF), in Brasília, in a demonstration in which they are calling for military intervention to overthrow President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, a week after taking office.

The President of the Assembly of the Republic expressed his “most vehement repudiation of the attack” on the Brazilian Congress and expressed solidarity in particular with the Senate and Chamber of Representatives of this country.
