Eight companies in the aerospace sector out of 10 are unable to recruit in the Greater Southwest (Occitanie and New Aquitaine). This observation is that revealed by INSEE in the context of its latest survey of the aeronautics and space sector. Invitation on the set of BFM BusinessFriday, January 6, 2023, Guillaume Faurythe CEO ofAirbus and president of GIFAS (Grouping of French aeronautical and space industries), suggested the subject.
Up to 16,000 recruitments expected in France
In 2022, the industry as a whole hired 15,000 people nationwide. “We think that we will hire another 15 or 16,000 this year”, announces the Airbusian. But it is not that simple…
“We manage to attract and recruit a lot. But when the whole sector is hiring at the same time, it’s difficult for everyone…”
According to Guillaume Faury, large groups like Airbus managed to hire last year. Corn this does not have to be the case for subcontractors. “We need intermediate companies to also be able to hire in 2023”, explains the boss of the European giant.
Guillaume Faury is counting on the Paris Air Show
To solve these recruitment problems and to meet the strong demand from companies, Guillaume Faury is counting in particular on the Paris Air Showfrom June 19 to 25, 2023.
“There hasn’t been one for four years. We’re going to make it an absolutely magnificent show as a platform for communicating, hiring, attracting young people.”
The CEO also points out that his company has visibility over 10 years thanks to its order book, which includes more than 7,000 aircraft. Will these arguments be enough to convince people to get involved in aero? Answer in the next few months.
