Letter to the editor – AHV pension increase by 0.26 percent
Regarding the letter to the editor “Four francs more per month” by Sylvia Donau, published on January 5th:
Dear government, I was informed at the AHV office that you are responsible for this extremely generous increase in pensions in Liechtenstein. 0.26 percent in other words four Swiss francs! Now to my question to you: Are you serious? Pensions in Liechtenstein have not been adjusted for years, and it is always the pensioners who suffer, who have to bear all increases in health insurance, medication, groceries, etc. Mind you, we live in Liechtenstein – where everything is a bit more expensive, just not the pension. *laughs*
Now an increase is finally announced and then it’s a ridiculous four francs! I don’t know how the government calculated dies, let alone what you guys were thinking. But with four francs you can’t even afford a day bus ticket for zone 1, because that costs five francs! In addition, the pensioners no longer even get the premium reduction money, no, this money is also taken from you and put into the hands of the health insurance company. The money that a lot of people would be dependent on, including the pension increase. What our government decides and implements is just ridiculous. It’s just a pity that these decisions only always make the poorer people and not those who make such incomprehensible decisions.
