Ski jumping – the tour leaders to Innsbruck: 23 of 25 made it through
Innsbruck (SID) – The Norwegian leader Halvor Egner Granerud can hardly be denied the victory at the 71st Four Hills Tournament, at least statistically. Since the 1997/98 tour, 23 of the 25 overall leaders were also in the lead after the third competition. In the last 23 editions, only the Norwegian Daniel Andre Tande (2016/17) gambled away his lead and finished third.
In front of Tande, the Japanese Kazuyoshi Funaki (1994/95) and Noriaki Kasai (1998/99) gave up their lead after Innsbruck and after the competition in the alternative town of Bischofshofen and ended up in second place. The last overall German leader after three competitions was Sven Hannawald 2001/02, who then also became daily and overall winner in Bischofshofen.
