At the beginning of the current season Onguéné was stopped by a thigh strain and a few weeks after his recovery he sustained an adductor injury. Result: In the Bundesliga he only made it into the squad for two of a total of 15 games – the defender was not used. In the Champions League after all, it is enough for three appointments to the match day squad. Here, too, he remained without action.
In Salzburg, Onguéné should now close the gap left by Maximilian Wöber. The 24-year-old was last to Leeds United in England for a fee of twelve million euros First League switch. Onguéné’s contract in Frankfurt runs until 2027. “We’re happy about Jerome’s return and are convinced that he can help us.
