Seized by the municipality of Toulouse, the administrative court orders the expulsion of the travelers illegally installed in the parking lot of the former exhibition hall of the Ile du Ramier. The premises must be evacuated within 48 hours.
The twenty or so families of travellers, installed in the parking lot of halls 7 and 8 of the former Île du Ramier exhibition center in Toulouse, will have to pinch their luggage. This was decided by the judge in chambers of the administrative court. These people had occupied the premises since December 19, 2022.
On the spot, the occupants denounced “a lack of space and land” given to their community in Toulouse. An argument that the judge in chambers did not accept. In a press release, the administrative court indicates that “the parking depends on the municipal area“and that these people”having no right or title to occupy such public space“.
The Administrative Court also considers that this place”is devoid of any facilities to ensure decent health and safety conditions“. Those present have 48 hours to leave the premises, under penalty of expulsion.
About 800 Traveler families are present in Haute-Garonne.
