In the pipeline for quite some time, AS Monaco announces the departure of its French central defender Benoît Badiashile. The young tricolor made the decision to engage with the Chelsea Blues. After long discussions between the leaders of the two clubs, the Blues finally succeeded, as stated in the press release from the London club:
“Benoit Badiashile has completed a permanent transfer to Chelsea from AS Monaco, signed a seven and a half year contract at Stamford Bridge. (…) Although he was only 22 in March, Badiashile already has a lot of experience in the French elite and in Europe, where he participated in the Champions League and the Europa League with the AS Monaco, totaling nearly 150 appearances in all competitions to date. “While the transfer amount has not yet been revealed, we should be looking for an offer of more than 30 million euros for the 21-year-old central defender. He will have to face big competition with Thiago Silva, Kalidou Koulibaly, Trevoh Chalobah and even his young compatriot Wesley Fofana…
