The special tax for the financing of the LGV Bordeaux-Toulouse concerns 464 municipalities of Gironde, this represents 87% of the department
Since January 1 and the publication in the Official Journal of the list of municipalities subject to the future “special equipment tax”, we now know who will have to pay this new tax intended to finance the Grand Projet Sud-Ouest company. (GPSO) in charge of the project for a new high-speed rail line between Bordeaux and Toulouse.
In total, 1,220 municipalities are concerned in New Aquitaine including a third for the department of Gironde alone. Concretely, the taxpayers and companies of 464 municipalities out of the 535 in the department will have to pay it.
Apart from three municipalities in the north of the Arcachon basin, the tip of the Médoc and the extreme east of the department.
As a reminder, households or businesses currently subject to property taxes on built and unbuilt properties will therefore be overtaxed; the housing tax on second homes and other furnished premises not assigned to the main dwelling and the property tax for companies. This tax should be levied from autumn 2023 with the next property tax (for individuals).
The exact amount of the new tax is not known.
