“Albergone” at the former clay pigeon shooting, Mycological Ass. still ready to make barricades
“The Mycological Association is ready to build barricades to defend that beautiful part of our territory.” Thus ends an article in our newspaper from 2012 on the so-called Murata hotel (the same as today). So was everything done quietly (perhaps because the casino was behind it) after probable interest from San Marino investors? Arabs? Orientals?…Even today everything is done secretly without informing the Giunta di Castello and the most directly concerned, who are the inhabitants. That is a public place for all San Marino citizens, areas on the edge of the protected mountain, partly wooded, of high landscape and historical value. It will also be necessary to take into account that the construction of hotel structures of that type will involve the destruction of hundreds of trees, mostly oaks. That piece of the mountain is part of our history and the planned constructions can be done elsewhere in the territory without devastating the mountain where, if anything, something less invasive can be created and those spaces usable for the San Marino people recovered.
The AMS shares the views expressed by the Government of San Marino after the international tender to give the areas of the former clay pigeon shooting to private use for 20-30 years. Areas on the edge of the mountain protected by UNESCO heritage and asks to evaluate possible alternatives in the area and with more participatory mechanisms discussed with the citizens.
