Michel Sarran, Honorary President
Six years ago, the first edition of this world championship was in full swing. On the strength of his success, he returns in 2023 to the Rex in Toulouse with a special guest, we learn on the competition website. The star chef Michel Sarran will take the place of honorary president of the jury alongside by Eric Carriere and of Francois Ginibre.
As a reminder, the winners of the last edition were called Céline Tarrarello and Philippe Jeansing, cooks at the Auberge du Poids Public restaurant.
Blind tasting
The objective of this competition is simple: the professionals who have registered have the task of highlighting cassoulet, a great local specialty. During the final, five chefs from among the registered professionals will be selected. They will make the dish in a cassolette to do it blind taste to 150 people. An audience award will be named to one of the elected chefs, but the grand prize winner will be chosen by the members of the jury. They will taste blind before designating the big winner.
The appointment is given at 6:30 p.m. Toulousains who kept going there to be part of the public are invited to register on the site of the world cassoulet championship in Toulouse. 130 seats will be available. It will take 60 euros per person.
