The end of the war in Ukraine – an expert’s forecast — UNIAN
According to Oleg Zhdanov, there will be two ways of deterring Russian aggression in Ukraine.
Military expert Oleg Zhdanov named ways to deter the Russian Federation if it continues to show military aggression after exit of Ukraine at the border in 1991.
In my opinion, there are two of them – military and his military-diplomatic. In the first case, Ukraine may find itself in the same situation that Israel is in now, the expert says YouTube channels.
“It will be a low-intensity armed conflict. It will consist of armed provocations on the border and exchange of fire strikes using various means,” he explained.
Otherwise, Ukraine can turn to the UN with a request to introduce an armed contingent for a peacekeeping operation to separate the opposing sides.
“They will stand at the border. And any shot in the direction of the enemy is a shot in the direction of the UN, this entails gigantic sanctions, practically excluding the country from all spheres of international cooperation. This is the option of Northern Cyprus,” the expert added.
In addition, Zhdanov believes that the Ukrainian authorities can offer security guarantor countries to create a military mission that will be stationed at the border.
“Then Russia will have a choice – either war with this coalition, or sanctions from these countries,” he said.
Exit of Ukraine at the border in 1991
Earlier, the head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Kyrylo Budanov said that victory of Ukraine will be the withdrawal of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the border as of 1991.
However, even after that, the Russian Federation can continue border shelling and missile launches, he said.
Budanov also believes that 2023 will bring victory to Ukraineand the Russian Federation – the transfer of power.
Retired US general Ben Hodges is convinced that Ukraine can liberate the occupied Crimea until the end of August.
