ONE magazine forbes elected Portugal as one of the 10 “cheap” places to live, particularly for foreigners who want to leave their jobs and change their lives. This Forbes list, which is led by our countryis based on data from International Living, which every year discloses which are the best countries to take advantage of the reform.
This list, justifies the renowned magazine, “is for anyone looking for a better, more accessible life or just a way to escape from it all – the frantic pace of life, violence, politics, division”.
About Portugal, the publication explains that the cost of living here is lower than in the US. “It’s a good time” to come to Portugal, says Jennifer Stevens, from International Living, cited by Forbes, justifying it with the “strength of the dollar”.
“The cost of living is low compared to the US – a couple can comfortably cover expenses (including rent and everything else) with around $2,800 [cerca de 2.654 euros] a month,” said Stevens. “A bachelor could live well on about $2,000 [1.895 euros] per month, with everything included (even less in rural areas)”, he added.
In addition, he adds that it is predictable that cities like Porto and Lisbon invade more cars, but he leaves three suggestions for those who want to move here: Lagos, Vilamoura and Tavira.
