Planmeca presents a new laboratory milling unit
HELSINKI: Planmeca is excited to present the new PlanMill 60 S milling unit, specially designed for the needs of dental laboratories. The efficient five-axis milling unit is capable of both wet and dry processing of discs, blocks and prefabricated implant abutments for various indications. The Planmeca PlanMill 60 S supports an even wider range of indications than chairside milling units and is also a great tool for dentists looking to manufacture more advanced dental restorations and applications in-house.
The five-axis milling unit can mill disks and blocks as well as prefabricated titanium and cobalt chrome abutments. It can handle both wet and dry processing of a variety of materials including zirconium dioxide, glass ceramics, composites, PMMA and wax. The PlanMill 60 S produces various dental restorations, customized implant abutments and bars, partial frames, bite plates and prostheses with precision.
The use of different material holders expands the possibilities of use of the Planmeca PlanMill 60 S even further. With a semi-open blank holder, the device can produce even the most demanding restorations in the anterior area. If necessary, the user can easily and quickly change the clamping holder in the milling chamber.
The Planmeca PlanMill 60 S milling unit is used together with the user-friendly Planmeca PlanCAM software, which calculates the necessary milling paths for the selected materials and indications. The software supports open STL files and guarantees fast and easy workflow in a busy laboratory environment.
“The Planmeca PlanMill 60 S is an efficient milling unit for the varying needs of dental laboratories, technicians and our own laboratories. The platform-based design of the Planmeca PlanMill 60 S makes it possible to bring new functions to the milling unit also in the future with the help of software updates and exchangeable mounting brackets,” comments Jukka Kanerva, director of Planmeca.
