Leash stuck in the elevator: Zamperl saved from being strangled
Break – Two people saved a dachshund from being strangled in Munich before emergency services could free it. On New Year’s Day, a dachshund on a leash ran into an elevator without his master in Berduxstraße, as the fire department announced on Monday.

The elevator doors closed, pinching the line. The elevator initially started before getting stuck. Two bystanders in the elevator held the dachshund up to prevent the dog from being choked off.
Rescuers cut the line and freed all three from the elevator. The dachshund was not injured. “We open elevators every day, but such a case rarely happens,” said a spokesman for the fire department.
