85 million hand in hand, we are coming to the parties of the Istanbul Convention
The Council of Europe Convention on the Prevention and Combating of Violence Against Women and Domestic Violence, known as the Istanbul Convention, was terminated on 20 March 2021 by the decision of President Tayyip Erdoğan.
Women’s bodies and political parties filed a lawsuit at the Council of State to annul this decision. The 10th Chamber of the Council of State also rejected the request for annulment.
According to the news of ANKA, the Council of State Administrative Case Chambers rejects the applications for the decision of the 10th Chamber with a majority of votes today. The Board found the decision ‘in accordance with the law’. The reason will be explained later.
