Toulouse: “Huguette”, a family story in locker room mode
Bénédicte Fontaine launched her clothing brand “Huguette”, born from a family history. Unique and colorful pieces for a wardrobe on the Net or in pop stores.
In 2021, Bénédicte Fontaine, 34, bathed in a creative atmosphere focused on fashion and luxury. For ten years, responsible for marketing in cosmetics, the young Toulouse native always had the desire to launch her own clothing brand. Since 2021, it has been chosen with her “Huguette” line named after her grandmother.
In tribute to his seamstress grandmother
“My grandmother was a haute couture seamstress in Paris and Toulouse, specializing in wedding dresses, she lists. My mother, who is associated with my work, is an expert in bookbinding, one of my cousins works for Armani and the other creates silver jewelery in Rome. I also have a godfather who was general manager at Dior. This is to say the family heritage! »
Her Huguette brand offers 14 ready-to-wear models for women aged 18 to 70, taking up the vintage wardrobe of the 60s and 70s. couture, or how to use dormant materials from big houses by giving them a new look”.
Bénédicte likes shimmering colors, playful and refined prints. She is inspired by everything that surrounds her: magazines, series, films with a retro look, or even simply her imagination. Ecology requires, the fabrics are labeled vegan, organic or Oeko-tex and made in France.
Result, a very beautiful wardrobe of unique pieces. A set personalized to the client’s tastes, numbered and produced on demand, thus preventing any mess, combining blouses, trouser sets, jackets or even little very girl power dresses. Take the example of the “Louisette” blouse with puff sleeves in a Givenchy print unearthed at Le Sentier in Paris. Or this jacket in Prince of Wales fabric, cut in a mix of houndstooth and small diamond patterns. Or the “Yvette et Suzette” elephant leg pants set and its crocodile top. The young stylist also does in-store pop stores in Paris and Toulouse (Galeries Lafayette). »
