Minister Káčer: Slovak diplomacy has experienced many trials and successes
Independent Slovakia and its diplomacy have had 30 years of difficult trials, but also great successes, including the most significant, joining the European Union and the North Atlantic Alliance.
On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Slovak Republic, the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic Rastislav Káčer stated.
He recalled that the first years after the division of the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic were also marked by the struggle for the character of the state.
“However, we managed this and gradually Slovakia stood on its own feet and stepped towards the developed world. The international community quickly accepted us, we became members of the United Nations, the Council of Europe and the World Bank,” emphasized Káčer, who in this context he also highlighted Slovak diplomacy.
He praised its activity even in successful integration efforts in the case of joining the EU and NATO in 2004. “These memberships remain the best guarantee of security, stability and prosperity for the citizens of the Slovak Republic,” stated Káčer.
The head of Slovak diplomacy is convinced that Slovakia has a successful thirty-year history behind itto weaken in the effort to manage a free and democratic state well.
“We have something to build on and our experience can help us overcome challenges in the coming years,” Káčer added.
As part of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of Slovakia’s independence, the Department of Diplomacy is planning a series of events and communication campaigns under the brand “Mission Slovakia” throughout the year 2023.
