Mercato TFC: from this Sunday, January 1, Branco van den Boomen is free to leave the TFC for free … and he is not the only one!
The winter transfer market now open, the Dutch strategist of the Violets has the possibility of committing today with another club, even if this did not mean an immediate departure. Other very important players in the purple squad are in the same situation.
Almost a full starting team. The Guardian Maxime Dupe ; the defenders Issiaga Sulla and Mikkel Desler ; the environments Stijn Spierings, Brecht Dejaegere and Branco van den boomen ; the attacker Rhys Healey.
All these players, members of the professional workforce of the TFC, have the possibility, since this Sunday January 1 at midnight and the opening of the winter transfer market, to engage with another club. And if that were the case, the Toulouse leaders would receive… €0 in transfer compensation!

The explanation? All these players are out of contract next June and therefore have the legal possibility, six months before the expiry date, of signing a contract elsewhere. This would not mean, however, that they would immediately leave the banks of the Garonne, but only at the end of this Ligue 1 season.
Power to players… and agents
For several months, Toulouse leaders have been discussing with the supposed to try to extend their contracts. For the moment, no number has been found but discussions continue, in particular with Branco van den Boomen, bought for 350,000 euros in the summer of 2020 and whose current value is estimated at… 7 million (!) by the specialized reference site Transfermarkt.

Difficulty for the purple leaders: in this compromise, it is the players (and their agents) who have the cards in hand. Waiting for the end of the contract, declining the extension proposals and finding themselves free allows the “buyer” club not to have transfer compensation to pay.
This allows players now “free” to be targeted by a greater number of clubs but also (and perhaps above all) to transform this unspent sum into a higher salary when arriving in the new team, or a big signing bonus.
