Golovchenko spoke about his New Year’s dream and what the Belarusian economy will be like in 2023
The country’s economy has a clear direction in 2023, but price increases are still inevitable. About this in broadcast TV channel “Belarus 1” said Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko. He also answered the question of what he dreams of.
In any case, there will be a rise in prices – this is inevitable
Golovchenko also said that prices in Belarus would rise in 2023.
“If we talk about prices, then we had a surge in 2022 and everywhere else. But Belarusians are not interested in what is happening abroad, but in a nearby store. Of course it was a problem. This is still a problem, but not so acute. Because inflation was brought under control by the end of last year. And since October, we have already observed deflation,” the prime minister explained.
“In any case, there will be a rise in prices – this is inevitable, the price is justified everywhere. By the way, they are justified even when wages are justified. It is inextricably linked. The most important thing is that the growth should be moderate, wages keep up with the rise in prices. If we solve it, then we can proudly say that we did it,” he said.
In general, the country’s economy
“All our plans for the year are discovered, they are fastening. We need some decent growth. The key issue is investment, we need to invest over 20% in the country’s deal. This happened due to the fact that new jobs were also involved, especially in the regions. Remember our well-known “One District – One Project”, which is just starting right now. If we ended 2022 with an average salary in the public sector of 1,250 rubles, then the bar that we must reach in the expected year is 1,454 rubles. Everything is planned for this, I think it’s definitely not worth it for the salary. In the overall economy of the country, directionality should be taken into account. Under all the conditions of the Belarusian community, there are enough resources to comply with all social obligations and not only them,” Golovchenko said.
He added that the wage fund in the public sector will grow by about 17%.
“Accordingly, benefits and pension payments will also be tightened. By the way, last year we got a real increase in pensions, that is, the growth of pensions outpaced the rise in prices,” the Prime Minister added.
Golovchenko’s dreams
I asked Roman Golovchenko what he dreams about. “About vacation,” the prime minister immediately announced.
“Of course, seriously, most of the thoughts are related to work, where you spend most of your time. We wish that 2023 does not bring us shocks. I would say that it is primarily stability. So that there are clear conditions for work, and we know how to work,” he added.
Golovchenko also hopes that the year will be better: “Last year we lived efficiently and successfully. We entered the new year with a good start. So there are all the use cases that what we put together should work.”
