“The Great Escape” in Cologne: Just right for steampunk fans
The “The Great Escape” escape room in Cologne-Ehrenfeld offers excitement and puzzle fun in a steampunk ambience. You can choose between three missions.
Cologne – Europe’s first escape game with a steampunk ambience and look is located in “The Great Escape” in the District Cologne Ehrenfeld. There are three hair-raising missions: In “Scourge of Mankind” you have to find the antidote for a virus and in “Circus Mortale” you are mistaken for the bearded lady’s murderer.
In a third room there is the mission “Deadly Clouds”. This mission, which involves the weather and a super magnet, does not require intensive supervision by human gamemasters. the players find themselves in an escape room that is crammed with technology and in which there are, for example, independent clues. It’s a little thrown in at the deep end, but the difficulty is doable, albeit challenging.
The minimum age for participation is 10 years. Prices are tiered based on the number of players. So three players pay 33 euros per person and with eight players each one only has to shell out 22 euros.

Arrival by bus and train: With the public transport KVB Cologne Transport Company is the “The Great Escape” in field of honor The quickest way to get there is from the Ehrenfeld train station. The regional trains and the S-Bahn stop there S12 and S19. From there to “The Great Escape” it is 450 meters or a five-minute walk. Or from the KVB stop Venloer Straße/Gürtel, where the trams of the KVB line 3, KVB line 4 and the KVB line 13 as well as the buses of the KVB lines 113, 141, 142 and 143 stop. From there to “The Great Escape” it is 600 meters or just under ten minutes on foot.
Automobile: The access to “The Great Escape” by car is via Venloer Straße. You can get to Venloer Straße via Äußere Kanalstraße or the Ehrenfeld belt, for example.
Park: The public car park is the “City Parkhaus Köln-Ehrenfeld” on Herbrandstrasse. This is open daily from 6 a.m. to 1:30 a.m. and costs 2.50 euros per hour.
