Swedish company Anticimex buys another company in Portugal. And they go 8 in six years – Companies
Founded in Sweden in 1934, Anticimex presents itself as “one of the world’s leading companies” in preventive pest control, space disinfection, hygiene and food safety services, for individuals and companies.
With a presence in 21 countries, it entered Portugal in 2013, where it has been growing dramatically through acquisitions, in an investment that, until the end of last year, was estimated at more than 12 million euros.
Meanwhile, it has just bought another company – Desilíder – Controlo e Eliminação de Pragas, Lda., based in Maia.
“This is Anticimex’s second acquisition in 2022 and the eighth in recent years, which reinforces Anticimex Portugal’s leadership in the Portuguese pest control market”, reveals the Swedish group, in a statement.
This year, the Scandinavian group had already acquired B-Alert & Controlpeste, from Viana do Castelo.
The last eight acquisitions will have been carried out in the last six years, in an investment that, until the end of last year, Anticimex estimated at more than 12 million euros.
For Paulo Coelho, director general of Anticimex lusa, the investment in the growth of its operation in Portugal “demonstrates the commitment that the Anticimex group has made in Portugal. With this acquisition we will be able to offer a wider range of customers, new Smart technologies planned in innovation and sustainability”, he promises.
Guaranteeing to be the only pest control company to operate with its own resources in all regions of Portuguese territory, signaling that “it now has an annual turnover of around nine million euros and has around 150 employees, who provide services to almost 10 thousand customers, spread over nine branches in mainland Portugal and the autonomous regions of Madeira and the Azores”.
