OUTLOOK: Jansson’s OT winner helps Sweden remain undefeated in the WJC
Ludvig Jansson played the role of hero for Sweden on Thursday.
With a goal already in his back pocket, the 19-year-old defenseman entered the puck in the offensive zone, maneuvered around a defender and lifted a backhand shot into the net at 1:35 of overtime to help Sweden remain undefeated at 2023. IIHF World Junior Championship with a 3-2 win over the Czech Republic.

Opening the annual U20 best international tournament with three straight wins, Sweden currently leads Group A with eight points. Tied for first in points among all defensemen in the World Juniors, Jansson has five points (two goals, three assists) in those three games.
Selected by the Panthers in the fourth round (125th overall) of the 2022 NHL Draft, Jansson, a 6-foot, 176-pound native of Stockholm, recorded six points (one goal, five assists) in 25 games with Södertälje SK in the HockeyAllsvenskan before heading to Nova Scotia for the tournament.
