A drug-trafficking ring in Athens was dismantled units, society
Four people were arrested, while quantities of cocaine and cannabis were seized.
He was dismantled by the Athens Security Sub-Directorate, a ring that trafficked narcotics in the greater Athens area.
According to ELAS, a total of four people were arrested, from the three members of the central core of the criminal organization, including the original one. Against them, as well as nine other people, a case file was filed for criminal organization, money laundering, as well as for violating the laws on drugs and weapons.
At the same time, the members of the spiral are additionally accused of forgery and fraud, as in the context of the investigation evidence of their activity in this field emerged, through virtual fakes or blank checks.
According to ELAS, in the at least 750 transactions found to have been carried out by members of the organization, at least 900 grams of cocaine and 500 grams of cannabis were traded, with half a gram of cocaine being sold for at least 35 euros and a gram of cannabis for at least 5 euros.
The dismantling of the ring took place in the context of an organized police operation that took place in the evening hours of Tuesday, December 27, in Elliniko and Vari, where three people were arrested, as well as the early hours of Wednesday, December 28, in Ilioupoli, where one person was arrested, ” customers’ of the organization. The latter was found to be cooperating with the original member in the preparation and distribution of forged or bad checks.
In an investigation that was carried out, among others, the following were found and confiscated: 0.6 grams of cocaine, 78.96 grams of raw hemp, 25.93 g. chocolate-type cannabis, 3 cars, the sum of 18,175 euros, an unlicensed hunting-type rifle, as well as checks and pads of doubtful authenticity.
As ELAS estimates, the financial benefit obtained by the members of the organization from their criminal activity exceeds the amount of 70,000 euros.
The arrested were taken to the Criminal Prosecutor of Athens, who referred them to an investigator, while the police investigation continues.
