Liechtenstein population wants cyber security
Active measures against digital violence are of less interest than digital infrastructure. That’s according to a newly released survey.
When advancing the digitalization In Liechtenstein, the population primarily wants more security in the digital space.
This is shown by a current survey by the national digitization initiative digital-liechtenstein.li.
“If the actual situation has its way, digital development should not be promoted in the expansion of digital infrastructure or the acquisition of digital skills, but in protection against imminent excesses of digital change,” is the conclusion of the survey published on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 .
The protective focus indicates that die digitalization overall as an opportunity, but in many places also as a threat.
In the case of digital infrastructure, there is a particular demand for virtual counters
Specifically, 67 percent of the approximately 700 Liechtensteiners surveyed want cyber security.
58 percent call for an active fight against digital forcesuch as bullying in Internetand 47 percent of survey participants want protection from digital disinformation campaigns.
Of the various aspects of the digital infrastructure, only the desire for virtual counters in administration and business (52 percent) ranks among these protection needs.
After all, almost half of the probability (43 to 46 percent) see priorities in the digitalization in the health sector, in electronic identity (eID) and in the acquisition of digital skills at school.
Digital democracy of little interest
On the other hand, only 31 percent want a future focus on digital further education outside of school.
Interest in digital democracy is the smallest. Only 25 percent of the desired wishes for electronic election and voting options.
Restriction: Digitally savvy people cross over to survey participants
The open online survey was conducted in September and October 2022 by the Liechtenstein Institute on behalf of digital-liechtenstein.li.
