Krakow: Inauguration of the Year of Tetmajer

The inauguration of the Year of Włodzimierz Tetmajer on Thursday at 15.30 in front of Rydlówka. How to donate to the Museum of Krakow, at ul. Włodzimierz Tetmajera 28, a carol procession with a highlander band will be formed, which will go through the streets of Tetmajera, Katowicka, Zielony Most and Balicka to the loop in Bronowice Małe. Then, the participants of the events, together with the carol singer from the Złoty Róg Theater, will take a historic tram towards the Main Market Square.
At the Bagatela Theater stop, a group of carol singers from the Circle of Country Housewives from Maszyce will join, and then – Joanna Słowińska – at the Square of All Saints. After circling the Planty, the tram stopped again at the Bagatela Theater, and the caroling procession will go along Szewska Street and around the Main Square to the Krzysztofory Palace, where at At 18.00 there will be a ceremonial inauguration of the Year of Włodzimierz Tetmajer.
Resolution establishing the year 2023, the Year of Włodzimierz Tetmajer, the Senate of the Republic of Poland, November 29, 2022. The initiator of this resolution was the Museum of Krakow, which, together with other institutions and associations, fell into the annual commemoration of the centenary of the death of the artist, community and politics.
Włodzimierz Tetmajer was born on December 31, 1861 in Harklowa, and died on December 26, 1923 in Kraków. He was a member of the Young Poland branch, known primarily for his paintings, graphics, as well as social and political activities. In his painting, he creates the main rural genre scenes, drawing on i.a. from the life of Bronowice near Kraków at that time. An important part of his work is also landscapes and church polychromes
