Featured Broadway for Capitol Orchestra New Year’s Concert
The Orchester National du Capitole de Toulouse (Haute-Garonne) organizes its traditional New Year’s concerts as every year. Three performances will take place between December 30, 2022 and January 1, 2023 at the Halle aux Grains. And this year, American music is in the spotlight.
Broadway atmosphere to welcome 2023. The National Orchestra of the Capitol of Toulouse (Upper Garonne)pays tribute to the great composers of American music during its New Year’s concerts, which will be held from December 30 to January 1.
New Year’s concerts are a tradition in Toulouse. Family and festive, these meetings celebrate the new year in music by bringing together young and old, accustomed or not to the hall aux grains, favorite room of the Capitole orchestra, around jubilant works and general public.

The spirit of New Yorkits jazz clubs and musicals will hover over the orchestra this year, which will perform the repertoire of two great figures of American music: George Gershwin and Leonard Bernstein.

The music is still relevant as a new American comedy hit Broadway, which is touring the world today and Steven Spielberg himself released his version of West Side Story.
Leonard Bernstein, considered one of the greatest conductors of his generation, was a pianist, composer and conductor. He has conducted the greatest ensembles in the world such as the Philharmonic of New York. He was renowned for the eclecticism of his works. He did not hesitate to move from jazz to musical comedy by branching out to opera.
These event concerts will be conducted by the Chinese conductor from Macau, Lio Kuokman, who accompanied the Capitole orchestra for the opening of the 2022-2023 season.
