A high-speed train line should probably run through Slovakia. It will connect the V4 capitals, but also other European metropolises. Transport Minister Andrej Doležal also confirmed this, he reports TA3.
Slovakia had to fight for Bratislava to be part of this route. “There was a real threat that such a high-speed line would bypass us through Austria,” said Minister Doležal.
The border crossing of this route should lead through the village of Rajka and it could copy the current route to the Czech Republic.
According to Doležal, they should have it between 2040 and 2050, and trains should reach a speed of up to 200 kilometers per hour.
“It is the right step, because it is a route that is used, and from the point of view of independence, it is necessary that all capital cities, not only the V4 cities, but the whole of Europe are connected by a high-speed railway line,” said the traffic analyst.
