Turkey became a base in auto spare parts: The sector grew by 10 percent in exports with foreign investments
Turkey is taking firm steps towards becoming a leading country in spare parts production in the world. Turning the chip crisis and the chains in the supply chain into opportunities, Turkey invested on investment, and this situation was also reflected in production and exports. Ziya Özalp, Chairman of the Automotive After-Sales Products and Services Association (OSS), who said that they will close 2022 with growth compared to last year, made evaluations about the sector.
THE SECTOR GROWED 10 PERCENT IN EXPORTS
Stating that they predicted that the current crises will affect the growth services in their sectors, Özalp said, “The global house in the supply chain has created a separate opportunity for internal spare parts devices. A large number of spare parts were put into production. This showed that Turkey is an important base for spare parts delivery, especially in export markets. Not only our buyers, but also many consumer companies started to expand their export markets. Now, distribution organization organizations are open, not only in Turkey, but also in which they export. The foreign exchange-based expectations of our industry will close the year 2022 with a growth of over 10 percent compared to the 2021 results.
EUROPEAN COMPANIES FLOW TO TURKEY
Ziya Özalp pointed out that the pandemic in the Far East continues to perpetuate and causes production disruptions, and continued his words as follows: “With the price stories in the raw material and maritime departments, Turkey can become a serious market for global after-sales. In the last period, especially many European protective companies, they have shifted their contract manufacturing to our Turkish and global users after sales. Our domestic dryers, on the other hand, continue to invest in human resources and logistics centers, despite the increasing prices. These developments reinforce the expectation that the aftermarket market will continue to be centralized in 2023, as it always does in the automotive industry.”
Services evolve into hybrid vehicles
OSS President Ziya Özalp, who shared the results of the next season, said, “Although the changes in the vehicle talk more, it sees that the internal combustion engine and hybrid duty are at the forefront in terms of quantity and percentage. We observe the preparations for the future of the producers, consumers and the services that make the assembly, which are the consumption users in the automobile. We hope that 2023 will be a year in which sector players aim to grow both in terms of quantity as well as a steady growth. In 2023, a parallel growth expectation similar to 2022,” he said.
