Hiba Nawab is an Indian television actress and model who gained fame and popularity as ‘Amaya’ in the television serial ‘Tere Sheher Main’. She also played lead role in Meri Sasu Maa which aired on Zee TV. Hiba is currently working in a daily soap called “Jijaji Chhat Par Hai”, as the lead actress of SAB TV.

Early life, family and education

Hiba Nawab was born on 14 November 1996. Her place of birth is Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, India. Hiba picked up Conrad Sr. bishop School, Bareilly but she graduated from her hometown Bareilly. Hiba wanted to be a lawyer since childhood, but fate took her into the world of acting and modeling. She comes from Muslim family. Hiba’s father is Dr. Nawab Firoz Ali and mother name is Heena Ali and also has one younger sister.

Issues and relationships

Hiba Nawab was said to be in a relationship with her co-star Pearl V Puri whom she first met on the sets of ‘Meri Saasu Maa’. However, Hiba denied these rumours, describing them as “baseless”. She says, “I am a very possessive person and cannot see my husband or boyfriend romancing another actress on screen. And if you marry an actor, it’s not possible!”

Career

At the age of 12, Hiba Nawab started her acting career as a child artist with the television serial ‘Ssshhhh…Phir Koi Hai’ (2008). Afterwards, Hiba has appeared as a child artist in many TV shows such as ‘Saat Phere – Saloni Ka Safar’, ‘Lo Ho Gayi Pooja Iss Ghar Ki’, ‘Crazy Stupid Ishq’ etc.

In 2015, Hiba made a special appearance in the hit TV series ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’. Nawab rose to fame from the TV serial ‘Tere Sheher Mein’ in which she played the role of ‘Amaya Mathur’ (Amu) for which she also won the STAR Parivaar Award in the category of Most Stylist – Female in 2015. As a young artist, Hiba has appeared in the television shows – ‘Meri Saasu Maa’, ‘Bhaag Bakool Bhaag’, ‘Jijaji Chhat Par Hai’ etc.

Disputes

In May 2016, she got embroiled in controversy when her ‘Meri Saasu Maa’ co-star Aanchal Khurana spread the news that Hiba and Pearl V Puri were getting intimate during the shooting of the show which created problems for all the crew members but after listening to the news. Hiba went straight to Aanchal’s room and started shouting and abusing Aanchal, the situation became difficult for the directors and producers.

• In 2018, she won Dadasaheb Phalke Award in the category of Best Romantic Couple in the TV serial ‘Jijaji Chhat Per Hain’ where she has played the role of ‘Elaichi’.
