When on May 29, 2017 in Lublin, in the presence of the Minister of Infrastructure and Construction Andrzej Adamczyk, the contract for the modernization of the Lublin-Warsaw railway line was announced, it was announced that the travel time would be shortened to 90 minutes. Meanwhile, currently a component on this route covers it in two hours, many of them need even 2 hours and 15 minutes to reach the capital.

Passengers pointed out that the work has been proven for a long time, so the trains run fast, but they are still far from the promised 1.5 hour to cover the route from Lublin to Warsaw.

We got a few like that. It turns out that … work is still in progress. As an official representative of the Ministry of Infrastructure, the modernization of the railway line from Lublin to Warsaw was included in two stages. While track and network works have long been completed, to the same scope of work that is also available in the European Rail Traffic Management System for the interface management system. The deadline for further studies is no later than December 2023. Until then, the second degree of line addition, additional tracks in the vicinity of Warsaw, also applies.
However, this does not mean that from 2024 trains from Lublin to Warsaw will take 1.5 hours. What could have happened even began in 2027, when the entire investment was fully implemented, obtained all certification and recognition. In the next one, the section between Warsaw and Otwock is also to be extended, where an additional, fourth track will appear.
