Pierrik Devic is the big winner of the YCM Awards – Crédit Suisse Trophy 2022.
The traditional Yacht Club Monaco (YCM) winter cocktail took place on Wednesday 21 December. As at the reception, the event made it possible to celebrate the induction of new members and to reward the best sailors.
” It is a pleasure to welcome new members to our community and it is an important moment because our members contribute to spreading the values of the Club as well as our responsibility to fight against climate change and to support the preservation of the oceans. “, also declared Prince Albert II, President of the YCM.
The Sovereign was also accompanied by Minister of State Pierre Dartout and took advantage of the event to award a new distinction in the form of a chevron to the winners of previous YCM Awards. Thus, Dan Meyers, Igor Simčič, Vladimir Prosikhin, Pierre Casiraghi, Kostia Belkin, Giangiacomo Serena di Lapigio and Guido Miani each received a gold, silver or bronze medal.
Pierrik Devic rewarded, Noah Garcia star in the making
As a reminder, the YCM Awards – Crédit Suisse Trophy was created in 2005 to congratulate the regularity of the performances of the members participating in the various courses.
This year, the big winner is none other than Pierrik Devic, J/70 world vice-champion. ” It is very moving to receive this Award. This reward, I dedicate it to my crew without whom I would not have won. (…) Above all, we are good friends who want to have fun on the water. It’s just magic », said Pierrik Devic. He was nominated for the first time alongside Nico Poons, Joost Schuijff, Giangiacomo Serena di Lapigio, Vladimir Prosikhin and Leonardo Ferragamo.
The evening was also an opportunity to distinguish the new generation of sailors, and in particular Noah Garcia who won his second cup for his title of French champion in ILCA 4.
