More than 100 employees of the Brussels waste service are victims of violence every year (Brussels)
Every year, the deceased of Net Brussels are victims of physical or psychological violence. This is how viewed from figures that Brussels Member of Parliament David Weytsman (MR) has requested by Brussels Minister of Cleanliness Alain Maron (Ecolo).

In 2020, there were 121 offenses, of which 97 in the five municipal recycling parks and 24 in the various Brussels districts. In 2021, that figure rose to 132, 91 in the recycling parks and 41 on site. This year the counter stood at 75 offenses in September, including 44 in the recycling parks.

According to Net Brussels, the aggression takes different forms: insults, repeated verbal aggression, people crawling into the vehicles (even through open windows), injuries, demands for money or fraud to theft. There are also threats with stabbing weapons and throwing stones of glass. Female included are particularly targeted.
Weytsman accuses Minister Maron of a passive approach and demanded a strategy, together with the police districts and the municipalities, for strong action against the attackers, support for staff and awareness campaigns.
