Kate Middleton “authoritarian”, Charlene of Monaco “permissive”: their role as mother deciphered
Two princesses, two styles… Kate Middleton and Charlene of Monaco are happy moms. However, the two princesses apply very different educational models. In an exclusive interview with Express.co.uk, Jasmine Peters, a parenting expert, deciphered their parenting styles. Thus, the wife of Prince Albert II is “permissive” and the Princess of Wales is “authoritarian”.
“[Dans les éducations permissives], children are allowed and encouraged to discuss things openly with their parents. […] [Cette pédagogie] is considered as a more modern parenting style“, analyzed by the expert. According to her, “permissive parents” avoid “confrontations as far as possible”. Since then, Gabriella and Jacques of Monaco, the royal twins, are brought “to figure things out for themselves”.
“Maintain a certain degree of royal propriety”
Across the Channel, Kate Middleton and Prince William apply a more traditional pedagogy. “In essence, it is likely that the permissive parenting style may evolve into a more authoritarian style, such as that adopted by the Prince and Princess of Wales in order to maintain a degree of royal propriety and privacy“, a theorized Jasmine Peters. The specialist also pointed out that raising “her children in the public eye and/or in a royal family is a much more difficult task than usual“.
